Update on the Roosevelt Field Mall robbery

Police released a statement today on the Roosevelt Field Mall robbery. The incident was reported on Friday night. From the police statement, three suspects in a vehicle were following a BMW330i which went into the parking lot of the mall by Bloomingdale's. Five victims exited the BMW. This is when one of the suspects displayed the gun demanding personal items. The other suspect followed one victim into the store. From there, they took off in the stolen BMW and crashed into the woods on Meadowbrook State Parkway after hitting another vehicle. Shortly two suspects were in custody while another took off. The victim driver whose vehicle was hit is in stable condition at a local hospital.

Further investigation reported of the five victims, one was in cahoot with the suspects who helped the robbery. From there, the third suspect was taken into custody. All three, two 16 year olds and a 17 year old charged with robbery, weapon possession and other charges. Ongoing investigation.
