Two separate shooting investigation in Queens and Suffolk County

Around 12:30pm, the SCPD were called to a location in Brentwood reporting a male shot. This is in the vicinity of Wurz Street Michael Cacciuttolo Park. This was a police involved shooting after a suspect with a weapon refused to comply and lunging at one of the officer from the information gathered. The suspect died later at the hospital.

As for Queens, the NYPD say a shooting occurred in South Ozone Park on Rockaway Blvd. Further investigation from police confirmed this was a self-inflicted incident and the male died on the scene.

The incident was reported this afternoon around 1:30pm when neighbors heard the gunshot and called 911.

The medical examiner is working to transport the body to conduct an autopsy.

Both incidents remain under investigation.
