Traffic was a mess with another fatality on Long Island

Around 12pm, the Long Island Expressway westbound by Exit 40 was closed due to an overturned tractor trailer. By 1:30pm, all lanes started to open while HOV was used for continued traffic.

EMS reported multiple injuries on the expressway.

Thirty minutes earlier, Broadhollow Road in Melville was closed due to a fatality. The SCPD reported a collision involving a commercial truck and a vehicle near Whitman Ct. EMS declared the driver of the vehicle dead and the medical examiner transported the body to conduct an autopsy.

Both incidents remain under investigation.
