Innocent birds dealing with people trauma in Glen Oaks

On one side you have people with compassion who visit the shopping center in Glen Oaks feeding the birds while their children watching with smiles. On the other side you have low lives speeding in the parking lot avoiding the yellow colored speed bumps while striking the birds without mercy. Local residents are angry lately of seeing many birds dead in the parking lot and the security says to call 911. In the very early morning, dead birds are swept with the machine and hauled away to the garbage compactor by a worker.

Local residents have called the precinct to address the issue. However, it's a private parking lot and it's a matter for the owner to look into despite having cameras all over the area.

Meanwhile, people continue to feed the birds while others are watching the location like a hawk patrolling now and then.

According to the maintenance, if you don't feed them, they won't come so that's better for their safety.
