Stolen plates to autos reported in Bellerose

The NYPD reported multiple stolen vehicles in Bellerose along with license plates after local resident's complaints.

Most of the complaints occurred in the 249 Street and 76th Avenue vicinity.

Some of the plates were scanned by the speed camera and toll machines leaving vehicle owners with no choice but to dispute.

Currently, there is no grievance to stolen plates resulting in fines for vehicle owners used by suspects. This often leads to loss of the vehicle when the city tow away for unpaid fines.

Bellerose continues to increase the number of stolen plates in the northeast area followed by Glen Oaks and Little Neck.

Local residents are advised to stay alert as usual.
