State Senate Avella in a disagreement with Robert Friedrich on Van Buren s co location

Rather than fighting for community, Robert Friedrich was all for co-location of Van Buren High School while Tony Avella is not. This surprised many since Friedrich is conservative and does not believe in changes to the community. At the same time, many civic leaders are wondering how two friends came to disparity even though Friedrich campaigned for Avella who was running for Queens Borough President few months back. Friedrich also donated to Avella's campaign and invited others to support various fundraising. When both Avella and Friedrich met at the co-location meeting in Van Buren, both did not shake hands nor greeted toward each other. Avella stated he worked hard to make Van Buren a leading high school and co-location will only quantify rather than quality wise. Many are distancing themselves from Friedrich in favor of Avella who is an elected politicians they need further support for future issues.
