State Police arrest Rochester man on felony drug charges

Members of the New York State Police have taken a Rochester man into custody following an investigation that stemmed from a vehicle and traffic law enforcement stop in the City of Rochester.

On January 6, 2026, a New York State Trooper conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle traveling on State Route 104 in the city of Rochester for vehicle and traffic law violations. Subsequent to an investigation, the operator was found to be driving without a valid license and had an active bench warrant.

An inventory of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of approximately 182 grams of a substance believed to be alprazolam, packaged in multiple plastic bags.

As a result, Sharhe Dontel Clark Jr., age 27, of Rochester, NY, was arrested and charged with:

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th degree – Intent to Sell (D felony)

Possession of a Controlled Substance Not in the Original Container (violation)

Execution of a Bench Warrant

Clark was also issued multiple vehicle and traffic law violations, including operating a motor vehicle without a valid license, operating an unregistered vehicle, and an equipment violation.
