Kirkwood woman arrested for driving impaired and in possession of controlled substance

On January 5, 2026, at approximately 9:20 p.m., New York State Police at Gateway arrested Breeanna Beatrice Baker, 31 of Kirkwood for the misdemeanors of Driving While Impaired by Drugs and four counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree. 

Troopers observed a vehicle speeding while on Court Street in the city of Binghamton and initiated a traffic stop.  While interviewing Baker, a Trooper observed characteristics associated with impairment.  Baker was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which confirmed impairment.  Troopers also located controlled substances in Baker’s possession.
