Speed camera in NYC extended for three years

The NYC speed cameras will not be operated 24/7. The only agreement is extension to another 3 years when the deal expires on June 30. The timing is from 6am to 10pm and will remain the same when extension takes place from Monday to Friday in the school zones only.

That’s all there is for now.

A new bill need to pass to make it law for 24/7 in NYC and this is up to the City Council.

State Senate and Assembly can introduce a bill to sponsor. That bill has not been drafted yet only intro.

If there are no protests from the public then it will speed up faster.

This is a money generator for the city after property taxes raised every year. Another bill in the work is to raise the fine from $50 to $120 for speedy gonzalezers.

So let’s wait for the next development.

Try walking.
