School buses to allow equipped cameras in NY

The NYS Governor Cuomo signed a bill today authorizing schools districts to equip buses carrying children with cameras to record drivers passing the flashing red lights when stopped. The bill start in September one day before school starts. However, its up to each local school districts to allow cameras by passing a resolution for setting up the equipment. Once captured the reckless drivers, the school district officials will submit to the local precincts. For NYC, the City Council has introduced the bill and hope to pass to become a law. At the moment, police if seen a reckless driving pass the flashing red light from the school bus can issue $250 ticket.
