Ex cop living in Bellerose busted for vandalizing 84 vehicles in the area

Police arrested Michael Setiawan, 40 of Bellerose was taken into custody on Sunday, August 4 at 9:38am out of his home and charged with vandalizing 84 vehicles. Most of the vehicles were on Hillside Avenue including a motorcycle in front of the liquor store next to 259 Street. Two vehicles in front of Burger King was damaged scaring customers to alert 911. Several residents in Bellerose reported Setiwan would walk around and throw bricks into vehicles targeting Asian Indians from one week before his arrest. The Queens DA's office issued Temporary Order Of Protection to those vehicles and residents damaged and he was released on recognizance. His next court date is September 30. He has a court appointed lawyer. This is not his first arrest on hate crime. Five years ago he was arrested for vandalism involving anti-Semitic and swastikas in the Jewish neighborhood section of Borough Park, Brooklyn.
