Saga between thief and security at Glen Oaks

On Sunday night between 8 and 9pm, several residents living in the vicinity of 74th Avenue and 263rd Street alerted security at Glen Oaks Village Co-op reporting a man lurking around in the court yard by checking vehicles for unlocked doors.

At the same time, residents reported car alarms going off while the man kept continuing to check for unlocked doors.

Shortly, one of the security worker arrived on 263rd Street and questioned the man if he lives in the co-op. The man replied he is looking for his vehicle and then security left.

Then the man, male, Hispanic 30 to 40 according to several residents went to another court yard and broke into two vehicles on 74th Avenue. From there the same perp took off and security was called.

When security arrived, they advised residents not to call 911 and will look into it. Despite the objection not to call 911, residents went ahead and called police. The perp took off toward unknown direction. Police are now driving around checking for the suspect.
