Queens is on the prowl to 16000 units

Under the new housing plan approved by the Mayor, between 2024 to 2028, around 16,000 units have signed off for developers to build in Queens alone, the highest in NYC.

The Bronx is second, then Brooklyn and Manhattan.

Under the affordable housing more locations have been brought out by developers and filed with the building dept to build towers.

College Point, Elmhurst, Rego Park, Woodside and Sunnyside are now part of the list apart from Long Island City, Astoria, Flushing and Corona.

This is not including the state's list targeting Creedmoor with the most units in Bellerose.

The latest filing is on Queens Blvd at the location of PC Richards and Son to make way for a 14 story apartment building with 253 units in Woodside on Queens Blvd near Roosevelt Avenue.

There is a long way to go to meet the 16,000 goal with another 4 more years to accomplish. Moreover, with the City of Yes, more housing options will be announced in the coming weeks if approved which has most community boards in the rejection bracket.
