Queens DA stays on charge is a charge on animal cruelty

A Long Island City man who was arrested and charged with animal cruelty from the video that sparked outrage is speaking out. The incident occurred two Sundays back in the vicinity of 43rd Avenue and 11th Street in Long Island City when motorists stopped a vehicle after seeing two dogs on a lease were seen dragging on the road. The dogs are recovering at the local ASPCA and now the man demands them back but Queens DA's office say nope and charges will remain. The other charge is driving without a license.

Local neighbors who know him have come forward saying he is homeless and lives inside a school bus that doesn't run nearby with those two dogs and that he borrowed a neighbor's car to get stuff and heat for the bus. He didn't want to leave the dogs alone inside the bus. His neighbor who owns the car said not to let the dogs in his car due to pooping.

Some of the local animal groups are helping him but it won't be enough since the dogs were injured during the incident. He said he had no choice. Another group says leashing dogs to a moving car is dangerous and animals are much more important than home or car's interior that doesn't gets another chance.
