Pleasant valley man arrested for DWI with child passenger

On Friday, July 11, 2025, at approximately 10:42 p.m., a Trooper assigned to the Stormville Barracks (SP Stormville) conducted a traffic stop on a Ford traveling northbound on the Taconic State Parkway in the Town of East Fishkill for multiple violations of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.

During the stop, the vehicle’s operator, identified as Preston J. Kellner, 54, of Pleasant Valley, NY, displayed signs of intoxication. Kellner was administered standardized field sobriety tests, which he failed. Further investigation revealed that a 12-year-old child was present in the vehicle at the time of the stop.

Kellner was taken into custody and transported to SP Stormville for processing, where he refused to submit to a chemical breath test. The child passenger was safely turned over to a sober party.
