State Police investigate a drowning incident in the town of Parishville

On July 12, 2025, at approximately 3:28 p.m., New York State Police responded to a body of water near State Route 72, in the town of Parishville, following a report of a possible drowning incident. An investigation revealed that Conner S. Hendershot, a 20-year-old from St. Regis Falls, NY, had jumped off a bridge into the water while swimming with friends and did not resurface.

Parishville Rescue deployed water rescue personnel and initiated a search for Hendershot. He was located submerged, and life-saving measures were administered by St. Lawrence County Deputies, who were on the scene. Parishville EMTs continued these efforts; however, Hendershot was ultimately pronounced deceased at the scene by the St. Lawrence County Coroner.

The investigation is ongoing.
