Pedestrian died of injuries on Hempstead Turnpike in Elmont

The NCPD reported the pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle in front of UBS on Hempstead Turnpike in Elmont has died of injuries. The incident was reported on Friday, December 27 around 7am.

The driver took off and was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of a serious vehicular accident with injury and was arraigned on December 28.

The Nassau County's DA will announce new charges.

The 57 year old victim leaves his family. He was heading to work when the incident happened.

The investigation continues.
