Painted post woman arrested following child exploitation investigation

On December 23, 2024, the New York State Police in Painted Post received a Cyber Tipline from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children reporting the possession of child abuse material. 

Subsequent to an investigation, it was determined that Renea S. Haight, age 31, of Painted Post, NY, possessed files of child sexual abuse materials.

On May 30, 2025, State Police seized an electronic device for forensic examination by the Troop E Computer Crimes Unit (CCU) as part of an ongoing child exploitation investigation. Haight was arrested for Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child less than 17 years of age (D Felony). She was processed at SP Painted Post and transported to Steuben County Jail for CAP arraignment.
