New York State police arrest Wayne county man for rape

The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Williamson reports the arrest of a Wayne County man following an investigation into a complaint of sexual abuse involving a child in the town of Ontario.

On May 25, 2025, Troopers arrested David J. Smith, age 76, of Ontario, NY, for two counts of Rape 1st (B Felony). The investigation determined that Smith allegedly subjected a child under the age of 11 to sexual contact at his residence.
