One dead after vehicle struck on the CIP northbound

Cross Island Parkway northbound closed by the LIE in Bayside reporting a pedestrian struck by vehicle and died.

The incident was reported around 11pm.

Police didn't disclose details of how the pedestrian end up on the parkway from the multiple vehicle accident.

The medical examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

ESU is working on the scene along with Highway CIS.

Ongoing investigation.

Update - The driver who was in the vehicle accident exited and was struck by another vehicle resulting the death. The investigation continues.
