Off duty sanitation worker identified in the CIP fatality

The NYPD reported the details of the incident yesterday on the Cross Island Parkway northbound with one dead after a car crash. The original report stated a pedestrian struck by a vehicle and died. Further investigation stated, an off duty sanitation worker was heading to work when he was outside checking the damage of the vehicle from a crash with another vehicle by the Long Island Expressway Exit in Bayside. Both drivers stayed on the scene and continued to cooperate with the police. The victim lived in Lynbrook with his parents.

Highway CIS is continuing with the investigation.
