Dead body investigation on the LIE eastbound

Police have closed off part of the Long Island Expressway eastbound on Long Island reporting a dead body investigation.

This is by Exit 56 in Hauppauge, Suffolk County.

Further investigation stated from 911 calls of a driver lost control and struck a guardrail being unresponsive on the shoulder side.

The incident was reported around 1pm this afternoon.

The medical examiner is working to transport the body to conduct an autopsy.

ESU is also working on the scene.

Delays all around.
