Nurses at private sector demand raise sending notice for a strike

Today, the NYS Nursing Association sent out a 10 day notice for a strike or pay raise at 12 NYC and 3 Long Island hospitals. The deadline is January 12 of strike involving over 20,000 nurses who will be out in the cold demanding their conditions.
Whether it's the nurses, doctors or others in the healthcare profession, the health leadership across the board controlled by the big pharma and insurance companies has the final say using the government to meditate with unions.
If the strike does occur, this will be the biggest strike involving nurses in NY. Meanwhile, the nurses who are against strikes say it's unethical due to their patients' care as a priority and not money.
The last strike was in 2023 involving 7,000 nurses and was mutually agreed to conditions after 3 days.
The three hospitals on Long Island are Syosset, Plainview and Huntington all part of Northwell Health.
