No more Hooters on Long Island

Bud Bundy's favorite place, Hooters, the last remaining place on Long Island closed doors permanently. Today, the Farmingdale location at 25 Smith Street announced their closing.

From 2019 to 2024, Hooters' U.S. sales declined more than 31%, and unit count was cut by a quarter. These issues left the company unable to pay off some $376 million in debt brought on by its former owners, ultimately forcing it into bankruptcy.

As for Queens, Fresh Meadows remains the most profitable one with teens coming out of their parent's homes with money collected from allowances and gift cards cashed from birthday gifts. It’s the best location with all the convenience including a movie theater.

As for NY overall, Albany is the other location that's open.
