Next budget is a small fraction for migrants in NYC

The NYC Mayor's Office stated more city shelters have opened up in NYC for migrants who were moved from state and federal locations including Creedmoor in Bellerose and Randalls Island.

The processing center at Roosevelt Hotel in Manhattan continues to operate as usual until a new undisclosed location is set up when the contract expires in June 2025.

As of now, NYC taxpayers are still paying for all services while the Governor decided to opt out fearing federal cuts from the Trump Administration. This is due to the state budget coming out this week.

The next budget is only $3.6 billion for migrant services in NYC to keep the non profits and agencies to continue with the payroll where some earns a cool $200,000 paycheck.

Also, the former college dorm is now a new shelter in the Riverdale section of the Bronx accommodating 2,200 is already and costs only $77 million per month for taxpayers which has locals upset. At the same time, there is a new service allowing migrants to self deport with a small voucher for travel.

Once the operation is saturated enough to run as usual, the Mayor's Office will disclose the next budget which maybe the same or lower.
