Mother is now weeping for the loss of her child in Queens

A brutal tragedy started this year for a mother with the death of a two year old in Queens unbearable to think of.

Last Thursday, police arrested a father who was accused of attacking his own two year old while living in a Long Island City shelter. Calls came in after a witness saw injuries to the child during a stroll in Manhattan. Cops quickly arrived to the scene.

EMS transported the child to a hospital and last night after 10:30pm, a mother's worst nightmare came after the child died of injuries at the hospital.

The Queens DA's office will upgrade the charges from attempted murder to newer ones this week.

According to the criminal complaint, the father admitted he’d been drunk inside a room at the local shelter when the attack occurred.

“He allegedly told investigators he woke up, saw bruises on the boy’s face and said he ‘must’ve hit him’ but didn’t remember because he was drunk and after all of that, he still didn’t seek medical help for his son.”

The city’s child services agency, ACS says it is in cooperation with the investigation between the DA, detectives and other law enforcement.

The investigation continues.

RIP to a beautiful child.
