Man fatally struck while checking car after NYC expressway crash

On a New York City motorway, a 56-year-old man was killed by another motorist on Tuesday after he got out to inspect his wrecked vehicle.

According to authorities, the incident occurred close to the Clearview Expressway's northbound ramp at approximately 8:50 a.m.

When the man crashed on a ramp leading to the Long Island Expressway, he was traveling west.

According to the police, he was hit by an oncoming car when he got out to check his vehicle.
