Male in custody after a shooting incident shock on Long Island

The SCPD reported a shooting incident on Saturday around 5am on Wall Street in Huntington, north part of Suffolk County.

Today, police arrested a 71 year old male who lives in the area. The bullet victim, a 21 year old male is in stable condition and lives in Huntington.

From the investigation, the 71 year old was being chased by the 21 year old and additional details were not provided by the Suffolk County DA's office.

According to locals, the 71 year old male is a veteran and has the license for the firearm. Also the 71 year old male is seen on regular morning in the same area jogging and some say he maybe a victim of attempted robbery acted in self defense.

The 71 year old male has been arraigned and charged with assault.

Many local businesses have been reporting thefts from stores lately. Stores have been adding surveillance videos also.

Local residents are now checking with the DA's office to find out more on the details and demand a press statement.
