A business gone and one dead from two separate fires in Queens

The FDNY reported a fatal fire this morning in Laurelton on North Conduit Avenue near 219th Street. The fire started around 7am inside a shed at the back of a home and afterward a body was found. The medical examiner transported the body to conduct an autopsy. Detectives are working on the incident.

Around 3:30pm this afternoon, a fire broke out on Roosevelt Avenue from a commercial location near 86th Street in Jackson Heights. The fire extended to the second floor where a gym operates.

By 4:30pm, the fire was brought under control.

EMS transported the injured to local hospitals.

The cause of fire at both incidents are under investigation.
