Long Island got it while Queens got nothing

Bayside residents chose love over money.

The NYS Dept of Transportation announced both Nassau and Suffolk Counties would receive $21 million to protect communities and roadways from flooding. At the same time, adding safety along key travel corridors. Nassau County will receive $9.5 million and Suffolk County a cool $11.7 million.

The work will start immediately to upgrade drainage systems and stormwater operations from extreme weather like the last flood. The three roadways to start are the Meadowbrook and Wantagh State Parkways and the local route is Route 27A which is the Merrick Road.

As for Bayside, especially the Clearview Expressway and Cross Island Parkway, oh well.

The NYC Mayor's Office has not responded so far along with the NYC Dept of Transportation. However, there was a press meet demanding funding from President Trump since it's his fault NYC does not have the taxpayer funds for flooding crisis.
