Hit and run with one dead in Lynbrook

Police have closed the intersection of Merrick Road and Blossom Heath Avenue reporting a 70 year old male pedestrian was struck by vehicle and died on the scene. The driver took off in a gray Nissan around 8pm. Ongoing investigation. Update - The driver has been arrested and identified as Harley Dix, 48 after a witness's description to police.
