Hit and run investigation in Elmont

The NCPD has closed off one part of Hempstead Turnpike westbound between Locustwood Blvd to Wellington Road reporting a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. This was a hit and run.

Cops are now searching for the suspect who took off toward the southbound Cross Island Parkway.

The incident was reported around 9:30am in front of the UBS Arena.

EMS transported the victim to a local hospital in critical condition.

So far no arrests.
