Garden City Park female arrested for stealing a sacred religious book that belonged to the Sikh community she is charged with grand larceny

The NCPD reports on the arrest of a Garden City Park female that occurred on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 in Garden City Park for Grand Larceny.

According to Detectives, following an investigation it was determined that defendant Prabhleen Kaur, 37 of Garden City Park was illegally in possession of a sacred religious book that belonged to a religious Sikh community. Officers responded to her residence to place her under arrest but the defendant refused to open the door. Emergency Service Unit (ESU) Officers made entry into the residence, located and placed the defendant under arrest without further incident. Defendant Prabhleen Kaur was transported to a nearby hospital for assessment. The sacred religious book was also located and given back to the Sikh Community.

Defendant Prabhleen Kaur is charged with Grand Larceny 4th degree. She will be arraigned on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at First District Court, located at 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
