Garage fire extended to multiple homes on Long Island

Around 12:30pm this afternoon, the SCPD reported a garage fire at a home which then extended to other attached homes on Long Island. This is on N Monroe Avenue in West Islip, Suffolk County.

EMS transported the injured to local hospitals.

Several residents say all homes were destroyed from the fire as Red Cross is working on the scene.

Fire officials say propane tanks have been removed from the location but wouldn't disclose if this is the cause until more investigation is conducted.

Local residents are advised to keep the windows closed.

The fire was brought under control around 2pm.

Firefighters are working on the scene.
