Take the 8 over 5 for the casino fight in Queens

Call it LGA vs JFK.

Two locations vying for the casino license in Queens have announced their budget and it's mind boggling.

The new numbers are in BILLIONS and millions is a cheap value for Queens. Yes, Kweens.

The main one many insiders predict to win the license is Flushing near the local domestic airport, LGA.

The Metropolitan Park backed by Mets owner and Hard Rock has a display of '360' rotating rooms at CitiField showcasing the $8 billion complex which has many with aahhh ooohhhh etc. Set to open soon, the new park space with food hall and more is all set in time for the Mets games.

The other location is Ozone Park where Resorts Casino is and the budget is $5 billion for expansion with live music stadium, hotels, full scale casino and a conference center all near the international airport, JFK.

The deadline to file for the three casino licenses for NYC is June 2025 and so far, around 10-12 has applied with the state. Times Square, Hudson Yards, and Coney Island are also aiming for the license.

This is a wait and watch for Queens since the local community, local elected officials from Assembly, Senate to City Council and the borough president need to support to gain majority to approve the project.
