Weekend traffic awareness to weather change

With weather changing heading to the weekend having tomorrow expect to hit 80 degrees has both NYC and Long Island police adding more enforcement on the roads.

The NCPD is adding more cops to the beaches and parks while the NYPD is adding more unmarked vehicles.

As of this morning, vehicle accidents continue to increase with injuries.

One of the major incidents was in Woodhaven around 10am on Atlantic Avenue near 87th Street resulting in multiple people in critical condition.

Both Long Island Expressway and the Grand Central Parkway continue to report accidents all day today.

The incident pictures occurred this morning on Northern Blvd in Little Neck.

Police say speed is the main factor for the vehicle accidents.
