Flushing suspect faces 50 years in prison for crimes

Queens DA's office reported the arrest of Charles Tobin, 29 of Kissena Blvd and Colden Street as the suspect wanted for raping one woman and sexually assaulting another one in Flushing. The first incident occurred on Tuesday, July 18 around 11pm when a 32 year old woman was walking home near Kissena Park from work. The victim gave cash and then dragged her into the park where she was raped. On Wednesday, July 19, around 11pm, a 17 year female victim while jogging was approached with a knife demanding money. After handing over $50, she was dragged into Kissena Corridor Park on Main Street and 65th Avenue where she was sexually assaulted. Tobin is held without bail and has been charged with sexual related crimes and robberies. His next court date is August 4. If convicted, DA's office confirmed he is headed to prison for 50 years.
