Update on the chase in Garden City

The incident on Sunday, July 23 around 3:30pm that caused chaos around Roosevelt Field Mall had three suspects arrested. Police identified the driver of BMW as Talique Thomas, 16 of Westbury who was driving on Post Avenue when Nassau County police ordered to pull over after checking the plates that showed South Carolina not matching the vehicle. Thomas refused and headed to Old Country Road by Roosevelt Field Mall and rammed a police vehicle several times. From there, Thomas kept driving until right front tire was damaged by Meadowbrook State Parkway entrance and lost control by hitting a 2007 Toyota. Three other passengers took off on foot and two were taken into custody. Police reported the fourth person was also arrested and was later released. At the same time when Thomas was cuffed after foot chase on Wright Avenue, police found marijuana bags inside his pockets. Two cops suffered injuries and were taken to hospital. The charges are pending for the other two while Thomas was charged with slew of charges pending arraignment. Old Country Road was reopened around 8:30pm.
