A new law The Merin Hershman is coming to NYC

The bill, The Merin-Hershman Act is awaiting to become law by notifying NYC homeowners if deeds or mortgage are filed without their consent. A letter will be mailed out by NYC Dept of Finance when something like that occurs. This is similar to Facebook hack by sending alert to the original document owner of such changes. The bill is named after two victims, Merin and Hershman who suffered when their homes were allocated by squatters forging documents. If passed with NYC Council, the mayor will sign without hesitation. Anyone forging such documents will be arrested and send to jail.
