Fire at a local school in Jackson Heights

All students evacuated safely and had no injuries.

FDNY reported a fire at a local school in Jackson Heights. This is on 81st Street near 35th Avenue where a public library is also located.

The fire stated around 1:30pm this afternoon and was brought under control by 3pm. The fire marshal started the fire on the 3rd floor roof where it started.

EMS transported two firefighters to local hospitals with injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
