Heavy fire at a home in Hauppauge

Firefighters reported heavy fire at a home in Hauppauge. This is in Suffolk County, Long Island. The fire started in the basement and then extended around 1:45pm this afternoon.

EMS transported the injured to local hospitals.

This was a second alarm fire.

Local residents in the area are advised to keep their home windows closed due to heavy smoke.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
