FDNY fought grueling fire in the cold at two locations in Queens

Around 4am, FDNY reported a fire at a home in Jackson Heights. This is on 77th Street at location 40-18. The fire started on the second floor and extended to the roof.

Then around 5:30am, heavy fire was reported at a home in Flushing. This is on 60th Avenue at the location, 142-33 near 143rd Avenue.

Despite frozen fire hydrants, firefighters rushed around the block and connected to working hydrants.

The fire marshal reported there were multiple lithium ion batteries and ebikes on fire inside the location.

Three people were taken to local hospitals as per EMS statement.

The cause of the fire is under investigation at both locations.
