Dead body investigation in West Islip

The SCPD reported a call of a dead body found floating in West Islip this afternoon. A witness noticed something floating in the Great South Bay near the bridge and alerted 911.

This is in Suffolk County, Long Island.

ESU removed the body of a male.

The medical examiner transported the body to conduct an autopsy.

More emergency personnel are working on the scene with evidence search and how it was located.

The investigation continues.
