Dead body investigation in Beechurst

This morning around 8am, police were called to Powell Cove Blvd reporting a dead body was found floating in the water. This is by 166th Street near the Throgs Neck Bridge in Beechurst.

ESU recovered the body around 9am. The medical examiner transported the body for autopsy.

Police confirmed the body is of a male, 65 years old and a local resident nearby.

Detectives are talking to the family members.
