Armed robberies falls under gun violence in NYC

In NYC, gun violence is up by 40% and most of the incidents are related to armed robberies. According to the NYPD data, Manhattan leads followed by Queens and then the Bronx and Brooklyn.

As for the FBI data, NYC crime data is not included. The FBI receives only 67% of the national crime data, not including major cities from NYC, LA, Chicago, Baltimore, Philadelphia, St Louis etc. NYC stopped reporting data to the FBI while back.

As for the migrants, the NYPD reported three crimes are increasing. They are armed robberies of victims walking on public streets, chain snatching and phones.

Jackson Heights remains the highest targeted area in NYC for victims.

According to the Mayor's Office, all shelters are still open for migrants accused of crimes and it's illegal to question them by police without a warrant.

The NYC Council is continuing to work on gun violence programs as the main epidemic and illegal guns must be taken off the streets. A great example is the sign of Gun Free Zone in Times Square which has not been successful.

Perhaps more Gun Free Zone signs all over NYC.
