Yonkers man arrested on felony drug charges following traffic stop on I 87

On Thursday, August 14, 2025, a Trooper assigned to SP Tarrytown arrested a Yonkers man on felony drug charges following a traffic stop on Interstate 87 in the City of Yonkers.

At approximately 10:32 p.m., the Trooper observed a 2023 Mercedes-Benz traveling northbound near exit 3 in violation of the Vehicle and Traffic Law. The operator, identified as Danny A. Almanzar, age 27, of Yonkers, was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

During the interview, the Trooper discovered a clear plastic bag containing approximately 43 grams of crack cocaine inside the vehicle’s center console. Almanzar was taken into custody and transported to SP Tarrytown for processing.
