Woman killed shot in the head in Queens NYPD

A 45-year-old woman was fatally shot in Queens Monday afternoon, police said.

The incident happened in the vicinity of 122-20 Merrick Blvd. around 2:36 p.m.

Officers found the woman unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the head, police said.

The 45-year-old woman was transported to NYC Health and Hospitals/Jamaica, where she was later pronounced dead.

There have been no arrests at this time and an investigation remains ongoing.
