Wolcott man charged with grand larceny in lottery theft case

The New York State Police announce the arrest of David M. Miller, age 67, of Wolcott, NY, following an investigation conducted by the Troop E Major Crimes Unit.

The investigation determined that on September 27, 2025, while working at the Wolcott Elks Lodge, Miller obtained New York State Quick Draw lottery tickets at the establishment without rendering payment. Over a period of several hours, Miller generated approximately $9,498 in lottery ticket purchases using the bar’s electronic terminal. While the tickets produced approximately $4,164 in winnings, the remaining $5,334 balance was never paid.

On October 31, 2025, Miller was arrested and charged with Grand Larceny 3rd (D Felony).

Miller was transported to Wayne County Jail for CAP arraignment, where he was released pending further court proceedings.
