Wildlife biologists will place baits to prevent rabies in raccoons in Queens

From September 7 to September 12, biologists will place a brown packets which contains pink, liquid vaccine in Queens including Alley Pond Park. The odor of packet will attract raccoons and after eating the packets, they are immunized without rabies. This program is part of US Dept of Agriculture. Officials are advising humans and pets not to go near the brown packets if seen as they can cause rash from exposure.
