Even local precincts are not safe to meet for deals. According to NYPD statistics, victims who agreed to meet potential buyers by the local police precincts are not really landmarked spots. Each week, victims after victims are being robbed by brazen criminals after agreeing to meet from online deals. For the local 105th Precinct, each week victims are being robbed and when they do go to the precinct for help, they are advised to call 911 to investigate on the spot. The only help is getting an ambulance for any injuries and then a detective will ask questions when notified. The statement from police plaza is to sell items through reputed online service by mailing instead of cash transactions. The risk is greater for potential robberies involving cash deals.
